ECOM Donates 240 Dual Desks To Three Schools In The Bekwai District

Educational institutions periodically upgrade their curriculum and pedagogy to meet the new standards of education.

However, classroom ergonomics, i.e. seating arrangement, desks, and chairs in the classroom, which are one of the most important elements of a learning atmosphere, receive little consideration.

Meanwhile, the physical comfort of a student in the classroom is a vital subject that must be addressed.

In light of this, the Sustainable Management Services(SMS), a subsidiary of ECOM Ghana, collaborated with one of our clients to donate 240 dual desks to three schools in the Ashanti Bekwai Local District: Boneagya Basic School (100 desks), Huu Primary and Junior High School (100 desks), and Nkwanta Primary and Junior High School (40 desks).

This program is part of our overall effort to support primary education in rural areas. For quite some time, the above-mentioned schools in the Ashanti Bekwai Local District have been noted as being devoid of desks.

Aside from the issue of requiring pupils to take chairs from their homes to school, there are instances when a large number of pupils are forced to share a desk, resulting in overcrowding. In the covid-19 era, it is impossible to follow social distancing protocol due to this situation.

The condition also makes the learning and teaching environment unconducive, reducing the standard of education to which these children are entitled.

As a business that prioritizes the well-being of our farmers, we responded by providing the schools with 240 dual desks.

We believe that by undertaking this major step, the teaching and learning atmosphere will be more conducive, and there will be no need for pupils to bring chairs to the classroom to avoid unnecessary stress.

Again, the problem of non-observance of social distance will be mitigated since each child will have an adequate seat and space for himself/herself.
