The Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) has announced the launch of its inaugural Agricultural Innovation for Africa Conference, to be hosted in the Ghanaian capital of Accra.

The groundbreaking event is set to bring together key stakeholders in the agricultural sector to foster discussions on the future of agricultural innovation, youth employment, and food security in Africa.

The conference is scheduled to take place from the 17th to the 18th of August, 2023, at the prestigious University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA).

Under the theme “Empowering Youth Startups and Agri-MSMEs in Africa: Advancing Food Security through Innovation and Collaboration,” this significant gathering aims to promote sustainable and innovative practices that can elevate Africa’s agricultural potential and contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Executive Director of KIC, Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, expressed his excitement about the conference and highlighted the importance of adopting Agtechnology and empowering young entrepreneurs within the agricultural value chains to drive the continent’s development.

“We are excited that the AIA conference will bring together experts and thought leaders within the Agricultural sector to identify the tech potential within agriculture while harnessing the potential of young entrepreneurs and startups,” he said.

The Agricultural Innovation for Africa Conference aims to provide a collaborative platform for sharing cutting-edge technologies, strategies, and best practices that can revolutionise the agricultural landscape in Africa.

The AIA will also seek to address crucial issues related to food security and rural development.

One of the main highlights of the conference is the Deal Room and Exhibition, providing a unique opportunity for startups and Agri-MSMEs to connect with potential investors.

Attendees will have access to a dedicated exhibition zone showcasing a diverse array of cutting-edge agricultural technologies, innovative products, and services.

It promises to be a pivotal moment for African agriculture, offering a platform for innovative ideas, networking opportunities, and strategic collaborations to drive the sector forward.

As Africa faces various challenges in its agricultural landscape, the Agricultural Innovation for Africa Conference emerges as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for positive change.
