Agric Technology Firm – FarmLogics – Poised to Transform Cocoa Sector with Software Solutions

Farmlogics Pvt Limited, an agric technology and software consulting company based out of Cochin, India, has won the prestigious award of best technology provider in the cocoa sector at Ghana Cocoa Awards 2019 held in Accra.

As the provider of Integrated Agric Technology Solutions and tools for the cocoa value chain, the company was shortlisted and emerged as the winner amongst its contemporaries.

Mr. Froid Mendez, Co-Founder and COO of Farmlogics Pvt Ltd, received the award at the Award ceremony held in Accra, Ghana.

With in-depth understanding of its requirements, Farmlogics has transformed the Ghana cocoa sector through its innovative approach and solutions thus improving productivity and efficiency in Licenced cocoa buying company (LBC)’s operations.

Farmlogics team comes with many years of experience in designing, developing and delivering solutions for Agric sector companies, specifically in Cocoa/Oil palm/Rubber sectors.

The agric technology firm’s product portfolio includes Integrated Cocoa value chain management solution, Small holders/out-growers management module for FBOs/Farmer Co-operatives and Sustainability operations management solution.

Farmlogics Cocoa value chain solution has helped many LBCs in the Ghanaian Cocoa sector to get complete views on Operational KPIs on a day to basis and their operational team could take timely decisions on fund disbursements, procurement strategies and receivable operations.

Farmlogics Mobile solutions empower the field staff of the LBCs with the info of field fund disbursements and usage, stock info (procurement, grading, sealing and evacuation) and enable Field staff to effectively track and report their daily operations.

FarmLogics’ solution offers Supply Chain traceability, resilience and sustainability assurance to the LBC sourcing and sustainability team.

FarmLogics Cocoa value chain system is enabled to fully support digital payments to value chain actors like purchasing clerks (PCs) and farmers with the support of local mobile operators.

Farmlogics working together with Barry Callebaut of Switzerland for their subsidiaries/sourcing companies in West Africa, Latin America, and Far East,  has developed a Farm service business software tool that works with FarmLogics Cocoa value chain solution and help to capture and analyse farmer level data to generate the best field practice management for agronomic tasks, Fertiliser applications, Pest/Disease management and income levels over multiple years.

Based on these data, the system will generate a P&L and Income projections for a farmer.

This info helps the farmer to decide on the best path he or she should follow to ensure maximum yield and maximum disposable income for him and his family.

This data is shared with Financial institutions and other organizations to decide on the credit-worthiness of farmers and avail credit for farm inputs and other capital requirements.

The Yield projections help the policy/decision-makers like Government agencies and other research agencies to formulate policy decisions. The solution currently handles data of more than 500,000 farmers across West Africa, Lat America and Far East.

Currently, Farmlogics’ solutions are used by customers in Africa and Asia who deal with Cocoa, Oil palm, vegetables and fresh fruits sectors.

Farmlogics was also recognized as Emerging Start-up of Kerala (Agri tech category) of 2019 by ‘the Talk Big Ideas’ awards supported by Kerala Start-up Mission, Government of Kerala and listed as Top 20 Agriculture Technology solution provider in 2018 by CIO Review India

Pleased with being the recipient of such honour, the company is cemented in pushing forth its commitments to the Ghanaian cocoa sector and aiming to expand to other Cocoa growing regions.

The Ghana Cocoa Awards, which is an initiative of VC Media, recognises and celebrates outstanding achievements in the Ghana cocoa value chain, with 2019 event being its maiden edition.

The finalists were drawn from a total of 161 entries filed by individuals, companies and institutions operating within Ghana’s cocoa value chain.

A total of thirty-seven (37) awards were given out to deserving individuals and entities in various categories including Agri-Input, Processing, Haulage, Manufacturing, Packaging and Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Media, Consumption promotion, Sustainability and Leadership.

The Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board, Mr Joseph Boahen Aidoo, was adjudged the Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Personality of the Year for successful farmer-centred reforms and transformation he has introduced and implemented.
